摘要:新建绅士化是我国常见的拆建型城市更新在社会空间上的映射,是我国绅士化的主要形式之一,也是全球第三波绅士化的核心要素。然而,当前对其概念化的不足之处、理解不清与误用,限制了其学术传播与价值挖掘。基于此,本文对其概念辨析、驱动机制和本土关切作深入阐释,以期为我国城市更新中的阶层置换研究提供新视角。笔者回顾公私关系演变下新建绅士化的产生背景,将其与经典绅士化进行系统性辨析,从驱动机制的视角探讨新建绅士化形成的必然性,进而得出结论:(1)新建绅士化因保有“阶层重构”这一核心要素而被视为经典绅士化的发展性解读,二者的结构性差异体现在诱导阶层重构的建设行为不同,且在阶层置换、资本、土地利用等方面有诸多非结构性差异;(2)新建绅士化是绅士化战略导向—资本次级循环导向—消费主义导向下绅士化发展的必经阶段,是一种高度商品化的绅士化形态;(3)新建绅士化推动了绅士化研究的国际化,并为国内绅士化研究带来了新视角、新现象、新解释与新意义。
Abstract:New-build gentrification is the mapping of slash-and-build urban regeneration on social space, one of the main forms of gentrification in Chinese context, and the core element of the third wave of gentrification. However, the conceptualization of new-build gentrification is insufficient, ambiguous and somewhat misunderstood, hindering its academic exchange and value exploration. In addition, domestic research of new-build gentrification mainly focuses on the description of its phenomenon and superficial differentiation of its concept with other types of gentrification, but there is still a lack of understanding of its core characteristics, driving mechanism and specific subdivided types, along with an absence of systematical study of its original theory and academic concerns. In this case, it is unadvisable to do research about indigenization of new-build gentrification without reference and comparison to well-established global theory system. To fill this gap, through an extensive literature analysis, this paper reviews the background of new-build gentrification under transition of public-private partnerships, builds a systematic analysis between classical gentrification and new-build gentrification, discusses the inevitability of newbuild gentrification in terms of the driving mechanism of gentrification, and finally, links the theory of new-build gentrification with what is happening in contemporary urban China. The paper makes the conclusions as follow. (1) New-build gentrification is regarded as a developmental understanding of classical gentrification because they share the core element, “class remake”, while they are also so heterogeneous due to their structural distinctions in construction behaviors, along with non-structural distinctions in displacement, capital, and land use change. (2) New-build gentrification becomes an inevitable part of gentrification due to global strategy of gentrification, capital secondary circulation and consumerism, and is a more commercialized form of gentrification. (3) New-build gentrification expands the internationalization of the study of gentrification, and has great academic value and practical significance in contemporary China by enriching new perspective, new phenomena, new explanation, and new value to Chinese gentrification research.
