Abstract:

The construction of community football pitch is an important part of building a Leading Sports Nation in China, and it is also the foundation of expanding the football population and promoting the development of football. However, the planning system of community football pitch in our country is still relatively weak at present. In the UK, the construction of community football pitch started during the Industrial Revolution. With the development and policy guidance of football in the UK, a comprehensive and systematic community football pitch planning method has been constructed, the facility deployment is guided by the needs of residents, and the construction mode of multi-subject participation has been gradually formed. This paper systematically reviews the planning and construction experience of British community football pitch from the aspects of construction history, policy guidance and planning support, facility deployment and construction mode. On this basis, combined with the China’s National Fitness Strategy and spatial planning system, the optimization strategies are proposed from four aspects: cohesion of spatial planning system, guideline standards and facility deployment, facility construction and land supply, and pitch operation and maintenance, in order to provide beneficial reference for the planning and construction of community football pitches in China.
