Abstract:

Since the implementation of rural revitalization strategy in 2018, rural revitalization led by government and capital has faced multiple dilemmas and risks, and it is urgent to pay attention to and study sustainable rural revitalization models and internal mechanisms. As a demonstration and leading area of rural revitalization in China, the intermediary governance model of “fund + operation” has emerged in Zhejiang Province in recent years through the cooperation among local government, market players and village collectives. Based on the embedding theory of new economic sociology, a theoretical analysis framework of the governance mechanism of rural revitalization is constructed, and an attempt is made to explain the mediated governance mechanism of rural revitalization from three dimensions: network and collaborations, institutional embeddedness and social embeddedness, combined with cases. The study concludes that organizational embeddedness provides a bridge for multi-party collaboration and game; institutional embeddedness ensures the incentive compatibility of multiparty;and social embeddedness gives full play to the governance subjectivity of villagers and their social capital. Rural revitalization should pay attention to the rural social field in which governance is rooted, attach importance to both government-led and community-based development paths, and build more appropriate strategies and mechanisms to achieve sustainability in rural revitalization.Since the implementation of rural revitalization strategy in 2018, rural revitalization led by government and capital has faced multiple dilemmas and risks, and it is urgent to pay attention to and study sustainable rural revitalization models and internal mechanisms.
